Quiet Members

People drift. Someone comes every week for three months, then life gets busy, and by the time you notice they've been gone for two months you're not sure whether it would be welcome to reach out.

Turn this on and we'll point them out on your Today page, with a short message already drafted. Nothing is ever sent without you.

Turning It On

It's off until you ask for it.

  1. Go to Space Settings → Quiet Members
  2. Switch on Point out quiet members
  3. Save

Leave it off and we won't look at all — no list is kept.

What You'll See

The morning after we notice someone, a card appears on Today:

3 people have gone quiet

Nok Charoen — Last here about 6 weeks ago David Okafor — Last here about 7 weeks ago

Names, not a number. You'll usually know the person before you finish reading.

For each one you have two choices:

ChoiceWhat happens
Write to themOpens a short message, already drafted. Edit it, then send.
Not nowWe leave them be for about two months and don't bring them up again.

If several people have gone quiet at once, Write to all sends one message to all of them together.

The Drafted Message

We write a starting point, not the final thing. It reads something like:

The door's open at Sunrise Studio

Hi Nok — it's been a while since we saw you. Nothing to book and nothing to reply to. Just wanted you to know you're welcome back any time.

Change any of it. Most hosts do, and the ones who put it in their own words tend to hear back more.

Two things the message never says: how long they've been away, and anything that asks them to do something. It's a hello, not a reminder.

Who Gets Pointed Out

Someone shows up here when they've been away between one and three months and they're not on a membership plan.

We leave people out when:

  • You've already had a message go out to them in the last two weeks
  • You've already said Not now about them recently
  • They're on an active membership
  • They help run the space

We'll point out up to ten people at a time, so the card stays something you can actually work through.

What This Won't Do

  • It won't send anything by itself. There's no automatic mode, and there isn't going to be one.
  • It won't nag you. No streaks, no counters, no red badges. If you ignore the card for a month, nothing happens.
  • It won't nag them. Say Not now and that person doesn't come back around next week.

Seeing What Happened

Messages you send from here show up in Broadcasts alongside everything else, so you can look back at what went out and when.

When you write to a larger group at once, we hold a few people back so you can see whether the message actually made a difference. For a handful of people we don't — there's nothing to measure with numbers that small, and we'd rather everyone just got the message.
