Glossary
Tatiya uses different terminology depending on your space's archetype. This glossary explains the terms and how they map across different types of spaces.
Core Concepts
Space
Your place on Tatiya. A space represents your physical location (gym, studio, workshop, venue) and includes your website, bookings, team, and community.
Archetype
A category that defines how your space is presented. Your archetype determines default terminology, suggested colors, and other presentation elements.
| Archetype | Best For |
|---|---|
| Movement | Gyms, martial arts, dance, fitness |
| Spiritual | Yoga, meditation, wellness, healing |
| Creative | Art studios, workshops, makerspaces |
| Hospitality | Cafés, coworking, event spaces |
Dashboard
Your admin area where you manage everything about your space: settings, bookings, schedule, team, and more.
Website
Your public-facing site that visitors see. Shows your information, schedule, and allows bookings.
Booking Terms
What people can reserve at your space varies by archetype:
| General Term | Movement | Spiritual | Creative | Hospitality |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Booking Type | Class | Session | Workshop | Reservation |
| Single Event | Training Session | Practice | Class | Gathering |
| Regular Event | Recurring Class | Ongoing Practice | Open Studio | Regular Hours |
| Attendee | Member | Practitioner | Artist | Guest |
Booking Type
A template for something people can reserve. Defines the name, duration, capacity, and schedule.
Session (general)
A single occurrence of a booking type. One class, one workshop, one practice.
Recurring Session
A session that repeats on a schedule (e.g., every Monday at 6pm).
One-Off Session
A session that happens once on a specific date (e.g., a special workshop).
Group
A booking type where several people book the same session — a class, a workshop, a circle. Group booking types carry a number of places, or no limit at all.
Private
A booking type where one person books the whole session — a 1-on-1, a consultation, a treatment. A private booking type always holds exactly one person, so it has no seat count to set.
Every booking type is one or the other, and visitors see which before they book.
Capacity
How many places a Group session has. Leave it blank and there is no limit — useful for a drop-in session where the room decides.
A Private session always holds one person, so it has no capacity to set.
Waitlist
A queue for people who want to attend a full session. They're notified if a spot opens.
People Terms
Owner
The person who created and controls the space. Has full access to everything including billing and deletion.
Admin
A team member with broad access to manage the space, but cannot change billing or delete the space.
Staff
A team member with limited access. Can view schedules and attendance but cannot change settings.
Visitor
Someone who views your website (not yet booked).
Member / Guest / Practitioner / Artist
Someone who has booked at your space. The term depends on your archetype:
| Archetype | Term |
|---|---|
| Movement | Member |
| Spiritual | Practitioner |
| Creative | Artist |
| Hospitality | Guest |
