Writing Your About Page

Your About page answers: "Who are you and why should I train/practice/create/visit here?"

Structure That Works

  1. Opening hook — What makes you special?
  2. Your story — How did this space come to be?
  3. What you offer — Services, style, approach
  4. Who it's for — Who thrives here?
  5. Call to action — What should they do next?

Content Best Practices

Keep It Scannable

  • Use headings to break up text
  • Keep paragraphs short (2-3 sentences)
  • Use bullet points for lists
  • Bold key information

Write for Your Visitor

  • Use "you" and "your" language
  • Answer "what's in it for me?"
  • Anticipate questions and concerns
  • Be honest and clear

Proofread Everything

Typos and errors hurt credibility. Before publishing:

  • Read everything aloud
  • Ask someone else to review
  • Check on mobile view
